A world where people with differing abilities lead personally valued lives.
Advocate. Educate. Participate.
Our Core Values
We believe all people have the right to be and feel respected. We show honor and esteem to all people we come in contact with. This is done with appreciation and dedication to their right and privilege to be treated as someone with worth.
We implement the principles of self-determination; Freedom to make choices; Authority over services & support; Responsibility for organizing resources; Supports necessary to live in the community.
We believe everyone should have supports that assist them to be involved in real life opportunities in places with others to the benefit of all.
We are responsive to our internal and external customers, resource contributors, community and each other.
We deliver on customers’ needs through new and existing community partnerships and creative use of resources.
The Arc NCR supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to create lives that mirror yours and mine: students attending neighborhood schools, adults going to work and living in their own homes, and individuals enjoying the social and recreational opportunities in their communities. We are a private, non-profit local chapter of The Arc Maryland and The Arc of the United States, the largest national community-based organization devoted exclusively to improving the quality of life for all adults and children with developmental disabilities.
About After d’Arc
Mark your calendars for April 007, 2018, 7:00-11:30 p.m.! We introduce our 14th Annual After d’ Arc Gala License to Give, A Night of Bond 007 Style!
The Arc NCR’s After d’ Arc Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds supporting our mission to empower people with differing abilities to live, work and play in our community. Last year’s gala was our most successful to-date, raising net proceeds close to $118,000!
Our 14th Annual After d’ Arc Gala will take place this year at Maryland Golf & Country Clubs. The evening begins with an exclusive VIP reception for top sponsors, followed by an elegant menu, entertainment, unique Silent and Live auction packages, and dancing with music from The Klassix.
This spring, we will also kick off our 6th Annual Fund the Need Campaign. This campaign identifies a significant need in our community for people with differing abilities, and money is raised to “fund the need” at the gala. Last year, our generous gala attendees raised over $20,000 to make dreams come true for the individuals we support.
The 2018 campaign will focus on renovating our Supported Living homes to make them more accessible for people supported by The Arc NCR. These needs include an accessible bathroom, kitchen, and entrance and exit accommodations. The Arc NCR continues to have to turn individuals away due to a lack of accessible housing. In addition, there are current individuals with mobility issues who need more fully accessible homes, as well as those who wish to age in place.
Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 to be able to continue making our homes more accessible for people with differing abilities. We need your help to make the gala a success!
